Ocean Racing Kayaks

This is going to be one of the fastest growing areas of our sport in the near future. With several events springing up in Europe and a World Series with hefty sponsorships and prize money I think it will prove very attractive to newcomers and ex racers alike. There are many types of ocean events but the boats are easily divided into kayaks and surfskis.

The kayaks are traditional sit inside craft while the surfskis (a development from surf life saving) are essentially a sit on top craft.

Choose your kayak according to the events you are doing and your ability level. A lot of these kayaks will be duplicates from those shown in the Adventure racing section.

Epic are the leading light in the surfski world whilst Nelo have produced some of the fastest sea kayaks of recent years, in addition to the traditional models they have manufactured under licence in the past.

You cannot fail to have fun in the ocean if you choose your kayak wisely!
